IHT has taken part in a study by an industrial group on the technical and economical feasibility involving the evaluation and selection of the best applicable electrolysers’ technology to the mass hydrogen production for the refining industry.

The challenge of the study focuses on a novel application of electrolysers for hydrogen supply to refineries of a new generation in the mid- to long-term. The quantities to produce vary between 200t/day and 400t/day, which represent parks of hundreds of units of the largest electrolysers.

The two-year study concluded in the choice of the IHT high pressure and high capacity technology, which meets the basic criteria of the study, namely, high efficiency electrolysers and compact installations. This study demonstrates IHT’s competitive leadership for mass production sites.
